The Portuguese National Change of Guard took place at the Palace of Xabregas, initially ordered to be constructed by Tristão de Cunha (~1460 - ~1540), a navigator and sea captain.
Today it is the property of one of his descendants, also a navigator and current fellow member of the Brothers of the Table of Lisbon.
From the photos, one can appreciate the beauty of the palace's architecture.
The ceremony took place in the Room of the Conjurados, wherein the conjurados of 1640 met.
It was from this palace that the liberators against Spain departed on 1st of December 1640.
